HouseProFinder Editorial Policy
The standards we use to make our homeowner content useful, transparent and worthy of trust.
Our purpose
We publish content to help homeowners understand home-service decisions before they speak with a professional. A page should provide useful information on its own; its purpose is not simply to move a reader into a quote form.
Research and sourcing
For factual claims that can materially affect a homeowner's decision, we prefer primary or authoritative sources such as government agencies, code and standards organizations, manufacturer documentation and established trade organizations. When a claim depends on location, product, system design or current regulation, we say so rather than presenting it as universal.
How we handle costs
Home-service pricing varies substantially by market, scope, equipment, access, materials and contractor. We avoid presenting a single national number as though it were a quote. Cost pages focus first on the variables a homeowner can use to understand and compare estimates. See our Cost Methodology.
Commercial relationships
HouseProFinder may earn revenue when a consumer asks to be connected with service providers or marketing partners. That commercial model does not change the standard we apply to editorial pages: information should be useful without requiring a lead submission. We do not describe a provider as endorsed, certified or "best" unless we have a documented basis for that claim.
Corrections and updates
We review content as the site develops and update pages when we identify a material error or when important information changes. If you believe a page contains an error, use our contact page and identify the page and issue.
